The “thing” this month seems to be booking solutions, I’ve had three separate customers asking for 3 very different booking systems.
WordPress does this very well, but not every booking plugin does the same thing.
Take for example the site in the main image. This restaurant wanted a basic table reservation system, seems simple enough, a free plugin such as Five Star Restaurants Reservations would probably fit the bill.
I showed this to the client and everything seemed good. Turns out the free version was very limited in design and functionality, there was a premium option, but this only added a few styling options.
It was clear the free plugin wasn’t going to cut it for the customer and so began the hunt for a decent plugin to do the trick.
I checked out and supplied details to the client about Amelia, FAT Services Booking, LatePoint, Bookmify and Bookly Pro.
After researching the best end solution, the client and I decided that Bookly Pro would be the best solution.
This simple booking process turned out to be quite complicated, the configuration required more add-ons to make it work, this increased the cost to the client.
With the additional three add-ons and the original plugin the client had an extra $177 on top of the additional configuration costs.
But the end result does exactly what the client needed.
As for the other two sites, they’re still in progress so I’ll post up when I can share more about how I solved their online booking problem.

Once the customer submits, the client gets and email and the customer gets a pending booking notice.
The client can then agree the booking, cancel or amend it.
The calendar can accept multiple bookings per time slot thanks to the Group Bookings Add-on.
