Having such a well established company is always a challenge to re-brand. Paul Hanwell & Son have been trading as a tree care company since 1978. They didn’t really have a logo, they just had various trees and their company name put on their trucks and workwear.
I was tasked to re-brand this long established company with a traditional logo and colours. There is a lot of competition for tree services in the local area so the re-brand had to stand out and be colourful, modern yet have an established traditional feel.
After meeting with the client for a coffee, I established that they would like to keep a tree as the centre of the brand, this goes hand in hand with their market.
The first step was to arrange colours and fonts to get the right look and feel.
I chose a light vibrant green, selected an oak tree which signifies tradition and established, I used two different font faces, a traditional serif font for the company name and Est. and a modern sans-serif font for the strap line – Tree Care Specialist
I designed a modern responsive website, their original website wasn’t responsive and looked terrible on smaller screens. Since the new website has launched viewing on mobile phones has increased by 50%.
Having a mobile friendly website ensures that Google doesn’t penalise your website on mobile search results.
