This project brought together striking visual design by Paul at Yellow Jersey Design and a fully bespoke WordPress build focused on flexibility, performance, and ease of use.
Our role was to translate a highly considered design concept into a working website that allowed the client to present their flooring ranges in a way that felt distinctive, modern, and easy to manage day to day. Rather than relying on standard column based layouts, the site was built using CSS Grid, giving far greater control over structure and visual rhythm across the site.
A key requirement was flexibility without complexity. The client wanted each content page to feel different, but they did not want a complicated editing process. To achieve this, we developed five predefined grid layouts and built a simple layout selector directly into the WordPress admin. This allows the client to choose a layout per page and then add images and text without needing any technical knowledge.
To support richer content without cluttering the design, we introduced custom flip boxes. These allow additional information to be revealed when needed, keeping the focus on imagery while still providing useful detail for users who want to explore further.
The result is a website that feels visually confident and technically robust. Each page has its own character while maintaining consistency across the site. From an admin perspective, the site is quick to update and intuitive to manage, which was essential for a busy business.
This project is a strong example of how thoughtful design and considered development can work together to create a website that looks different, works hard, and remains practical long after launch.
