Marketing & Website Design for Skip Hire Company.

We like a challenge, this client came to us with multiple challenges in this web and marketing project.

First issue, the company they used to register their domain names and hosting with has been bought out by Vistaprint. They were unable to log in or access any of the 16 domain names, some had recently expired.

Thankfully our knowledge of domain name registration came to the rescue. Luckily the technical and billing contacts were registered with the client and not the registrar so we were able to log into Nominet and request a bulk transfer of the domains to us so they could be renewed. Problem one solved.

The next issue was to work out a way to save on costs, the customer was paying for 16 domain names and 16 web hosting accounts which seemed excessive. Our solution, register a generic domain name (www.budgetskips.uk), pay for one hosting account and create landing pages for each of the domains, then point each of the domains to the landing pages. Problem 2 solved.

Using WordPress we created a responsive website with local SEO built in. The website has a single home page that lists all the areas they promote skip hire in.

We designed a very simple logo, each of the 16 areas has it’s own logo.

We created a user friendly way to display text and images. The old website was just paragraph upon paragraph of text that would probably not have been read.

And for the final hurdle, all online transactions are done using Shopify, some areas have different hire rates. Our solution was to template the area using Elementor, by doing this, whenever the prices change or links to buy change, we only need to update the one template area instead of 16 pages.

The result, cost savings for the client, a new responsive, user friendly website that can be expanded upon in the future without having to re-invent the wheel each time.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be monitoring web traffic using Google Analytics and Monster Insights, this way the client can have a web traffic report automatically delivered to his email box once a week to track progress.
